Announcements
Greetings fellow homeowners in South Bay
The Board of Directors wishes you a fun filled and not too hot summer.
Our Board has worked diligently throughout the first half of 2011 to continue to maintain South Bay as one of the premier addresses in all of Orlando. The Board is making substantial investments in correcting several areas of deferred maintenance. You have seen crews replacing damaged sections of the walkways. The work should be finished well before the July 4th holiday so that all can enjoy a casual stroll among the trees. The Board also thanks Joe and Beth Blanton for repairing the seats on our dock. Later this summer, we will resurface the tennis courts and hope to begin the Cypress Cove pond remediation as we resolve the litigation issues.
We have installed new “Doggie Stations” along the walkways, thanks to the efforts of Brigid Klimas. We have noticed that the vast majority of home owners are responsible and are using the stations to dispose of their pets’ waste. Unfortunately, a small number of dog owners still allow their animals to foul the grass and do not clean up after them. As a reminder to all, please be respectful of your neighbors and clean up after your pets. Please keep in mind that we have a very active architectural review board that will work with you on any physical changes to the exterior of your property. All residents are required by our Covenants and Restrictions to get approval for painting, landscaping and additions to homes. Our ARB team will work with you to ensure this process is handled in a timely and professional manner. Pre-approval saves everyone time and money.
South Bay is a very safe community with a very low crime rate. However, we rarely see crimes of opportunity, generally involving petty theft from unlocked cars or open garages. Please take care to keep your cars locked and your garage door closed. Also, please report strangers to our patrol officers using 407-765-0066 or to the Orlando Sheriff Department using 407-629-8400.
The annual meeting and election of new board members will take place in September. A mailing with details will follow. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please call or email me. In addition, we are seeking help from home owners in several areas, including the ARB. This is a chance to support our community. Please volunteer.
The Board invites all home owners to attend our meetings and to comment as the first agenda item. Dates are published on our web site, southbayhoa.org, and an announcement sign is posted on South Bay Blvd. about 48 hours before the meetings. To login to the web site, the password is “SouthBay”. Be sure to click on “Login”. Also, to receive periodic notices from the HOA, please send your email address to Judy Chandler at bobnjudy@yahoo.com.
